Homes Open for Ministry and Encouragement.

"Relationships are nurtured so all who know us experience Christ's care."

In New Testament Times, belivers banded together in prayer groups and house churches. This enabled them to go further and rise higher in their Christian growth than if they had tried to go it alone.

The larger we are, the smaller we need to be.
It is truly a blessing to be a member at a large church, but within a large church, members can still feel alone. Getting to know people and developing discipling relationships is better accomplished in small groups where people have a better opportunity to get know one another personally.

A H.O.M.E. Group meets at the home of a member and usually involves variable degrees of each of the following (depending on the type of group):

  • Worhsip (Prayer & Devotion)
  • Discipleship (Study & Mentoring)
  • Fellowship (Friendship & Accountability)
  • Service (giving oneself to others)

How do groups form?
H.O.M.E. Groups have become an important part of our yearly Lenten Emphasis where people gather together to talk about and apply what is also being taught on Sunday mornings.

Groups form for a number of different reasons. They include commonalities in: age, life stage, location, interest, service, and need. An important equation to remember is Relationship + Intentionality = Discipleship.
